About the Item
Ceylon yellow sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Ceylon yellow sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 7.20 carats, surrounded by thirty two round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.35 carats, to an impressive coronet cluster design featuring millegrain edging, an intricately pierced gallery and open backholing, the slightly raised tapering shoulders supported by cheniers, flowing to a solid D-shape shank. Marked platinum, circa 1920, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #79224-31.

The setting of this feminine antique ring represents a flower whose heart is adorned with a natural yellow sapphire held in a closed setting in a polylobed surround adorned with rose-cut diamonds stylizing the petals of a flower. The basket is open-worked and the start of the ring is adorned on either side with 2x3 rose-cut diamonds.
Total weight of the sapphire : 1.63 carat. Natural sapphire, unheated and untreated, from Sri-Lanka.
