About the Item
An Edwardian pearl, ruby and diamond ring, the marquise shaped ring set to the centre with a pearl measuring approximately 6mm in diameter, surrounded by calibre-cut rubies set in an extended figure-of-eight design, brilliant-cut diamonds claw set to each side, all to a platinum D-section shank with diamond-set shoulders, circa 1910, the head measuring approximately head 2.2x1.7cm, finger size H, gross weight 3.7 grams.
This ring is in very good condition, signs of abrasion on three rubies, consistent with the age of the piece. Unmarked, tested as platinum.
This gorgeous piece is a sublime example of Edwardian elegance. It was made in the early twentieth century and comes from the collection of Bentley
Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III. This ring features a central nacreous pearl set in a diamond and ruby set navette plaque. The rubies form a sinuous and curving design around the pearl, providing a wonderful contrast to both the glittering diamonds and the central pearl. Openwork shoulders of a foliate design complete this luxurious piece: it would pair perfectly with a simple and chic cocktail dress.
