About the Item
An early rare diamond cluster ring ring from C1810, in an unusual triangular format. In the centre is an open pinched collet set large rose cut diamond. In the corners are 4 large rose cut diamonds flanked by 4 smaller diamonds. All diamonds are set in pinched collet silver settings.
There are several interesting features on the underside of this spectacular ring. The outside border is mounted in silver in what is known as an octofoil shape, resembling a leaf with eight lobes, also known as a double quatrefoil. Then there is the the 8 petaled flower in the center. The dynamic rays of the flower, sculpted in 18K, point outward in an expressionist fashion. The magnificent hand-work on the underside of early rings is a hallmark of the era.
The total carat weight of the diamonds is 3.8 carats.
