A Georgian Regard 18 karat yellow gold ring, circa 1820
In this original 18 karat gold acrostis Regard ring the first letter of each bezel set old oval cut stone spells out the word Regard: Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby, Diamond the ring features floral enamelled detail to its shoulders.
Width at widest point - 6.45mm
Finger size UK L 1/2 or US 6 this can be resized upon request for a perfect fit.
In Georgian and Victorian society it was not always possible to give a voice to emotions or feelings of love and friendship, and thus jewellery was crafted which spelt out messages in the first letter of the gemstones contained within.
In the case of this ring the word "REGARD" is spelled out showing that the person giving the gift held the recipient in high regard.
Condition - Overall the condition of the ring is good, with some slight abrasions to the surface of the gold and enamel in keeping with its general age and wear
