About the Item
An Important Victorian yellow sapphire and diamond brooch/ring, the natural sapphire weighing 31.58 carats, accompanied by GCS Report stating to be of Sri Lankan origin with no indication of heating, claw-set in yellow gold, surrounded by twenty four old European-cut diamonds estimated to weigh 2.4 carats in total, all set in silver cut-down setting, to yellow gold mount and brooch fitting, circa 1890, with associated gold ring, the head measuring 2.5 x 2.1 cm, finger size L, gross weight 19grams.
This ring is in excellent condition. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold and silver.
This exceptional Victorian sapphire and diamond brooch/ring comes from the collection of Bentley
Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III. This piece features an important yellow sapphire weighing thirty-one and a half carats. The sapphire is a deep canary yellow and has a beautiful, faceted sparkle. Surrounding the sapphire is a halo of glittering old-cut diamonds weighing a total of over two carats. The impressive stone can be worn as a brooch or removed from the brooch fitting and attached to a yellow gold ring setting. As a ring, this piece makes a stunning and eye-catching statement, and as a brooch, would add colour and sparkle to a silk evening gown.
