A vintage sapphire and diamond cluster ring, the sugarloaf cabochon-cut sapphire weighing 2.74 carats and accompanied by Gem
Pearl Laboratory report stating to be natural with no evidence of heat treatment, set to the centre of a cluster surround of ten eight-cut diamonds, with three tapered baguette-cut diamonds to each shoulder, the diamonds estimated to weigh 0.65 carats in total, all set in a platinum mount with square-section shank, American, circa 1950, 2x1.3cm, finger size L, gross weight 6.7 grams.
This ring is in excellent condition. Marked and tested as Irid-Platinum.
This vivid sapphire and diamond ring comes from the collection of Bentley
Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III. The central feature of this ring is the enchanting cabochon-cut sapphire, which had a wonderful deep blue colour. The sapphire is surrounded on the top and bottom by a row of lively diamonds and flanked on either side by further baguette-cut diamonds. This piece was made in the mid-20th century and is inspired by the sophistication of Art Deco style. A fabulous and elegant ring.
