Award winning designer Dorian Webb is an advocator of women and community. Since founding her eponymous design company while studying architecture at Yale University, Dorian has supported both groups through the sale of her jewelry, home décor and fine art. Often, this championing involves creating intentional pieces that celebrate the beauty of connection and Dorian’s African American heritage with a portion of the sales price donated to nonprofits. As one of six designers nationwide, Dorian was selected for the inaugural Emerging Designer Diamond Initiative which seeks to diversify the diamond industry. Her first collection for this initiative, Quality to Equality featuring an array of fancy cut diamonds set asymmetrically in 18k gold that underscore the appeal of the unexpected and the different, is indicative of her thoughtful approach. Coral is a recurring theme for Dorian Webb, and represents the singular and often overlooked beauty of women. Detailing often plays an important role in the collection with surfaces textured so that their handcraftsmanship is as obvious to the eye as it is to the touch. Intrigued by color and the way that it can stir and soothe the senses, Dorian’s bespoke jewelry often incorporates shades of color to draw attention to the wearer’s best attributes. Her custom designed pieces are available in 18k yellow, white and rose gold as well as sterling silver.
