Victorian five stone diamond cluster ring. Horizontally to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with an approximate weight 1.25 carats, flanked by four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 2.45 carats, surrounded by twenty-four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain and cut-down settings with a combined weight of 2.85 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 6.55 carats, to an impressive five stone cluster design featuring smooth edges, a pierced gallery with decorative motifs and fancy open backholing, the trumpeting shoulders flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold and silver, circa 1880, accompanied by antique box.
