About the Item
A vintage opal and diamond cluster ring, the rectangular cabochon-cut opal, measuring 19.6 x 10.3mm, claw set to a surround of old brilliant-cut diamonds estimated to weigh a total of 0.8 carats, cut down set in platinum to a gold mount with diamond-set shoulders, circa 1930, later hallmarke, 18ct gold, London, 2015, the head measuring approximately 2.4 x 1.5cm, finger size M, gross weight 4.82 grams.
This ring is in very good condition, with signs of wear consisting with the age of the piece.
This fabulous and sparkling ring was made in around 1930 and comes from the collection of Bentley
Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III. It features a central rectangular opal plaque, which glimmers with seafoam green, light blue, and orange. Surrounding the opal plaque is a frame of scintillating diamonds which add sparkle and highlight the beauty of the central stone. This lovely ring makes an excellent dress ring and a perfect eye-catching accessory.
