About the Item
This freeform solitaire was designed and sculpted here in our shop by Eytan Brandes. It's a one-of-a-kind piece created specifically to show off a huge, roughly egg-shaped lemon citrine cabochon. The stone is wrapped in a high-elevation 18K yellow gold one-piece mounting that Eytan hand-finished to resemble crushed velvet. Completing the look is a small (0.06 carat), bezel-set brilliant-cut diamond rising out from the ring's top platform.
The citrine weighs about 26 carats. The diamond is 0.06 carats with H color and VS2 clarity.
The inside is stamped "18K" and signed "Eytan" by Eytan Brandes.
The ring weighs 18.1 grams, of which a little over 5 grams can be attributed to the stones. The face of the ring is about 21mm x 19mm with an elevation of 16mm. The band tapers to 4mm wide and 2mm thick in the back.
Currently a size 7, resizing is complimentary for full-price buyers, but it's tricky for sizes below 4 and above 8, so please let us know if you need a size outside of this range.
We don't recommend resizing outside of this range due to the structure of the ring.

Many of our customers bring us their old jewelry to be melted down so that we can apply the scrap gold credit to the price of their new custom pieces by Eytan Brandes. During this process, Eytan plucks out the precious stones and sorts them according to a system nobody but he understands.
This ring was fashioned by Eytan specifically to use up his pile of extracted yellow diamonds, all taken from various pre-owned pieces over a period of around 25 years. They're in various shades ranging from pale yellow to fancy yellow to golden yellow-brown. (And there's two small champagne-colored diamonds thrown in the mix, just to keep everyone on their toes.)
This is a mish-mash of round stones -- all different sizes, colors and clarities. Most are full (i.e., brilliant) cut, but a few are mixed cuts. They're pavé-set on an oxidized (black) landscape over the slightly concave front of a naturalistic and freeform 18 karat yellow gold ring. Eytan calls it his Lava Pool ring...
