This stunning Victorian style 14K yellow gold ring features six antique Australian Opals set in a pinwheel formation with a diamond at the center. The stones show beautiful natural colors of peacock green, blues - violets, and warm undertones in the light. Every opal is a solid, single-cut natural stone, not a doublet or triplet. The cabochons vary slightly in size, measuring between 5mm - 5.3mm long. At the center lies a a high quality genuine sparkling diamond, which is eye-clean and quite impressive for its' size, measuring approximately 0.25 of a carat. This ring is well made, contains ample gold, and was exquisitely designed and executed. The moment you slip it on your finger, you can see and tangibly feel the quality of the craftsmanship. When worn, it sits elevated on the finger, approximately 0.40 of an inch high. It is very noticeable and perfect for cocktails and formal events. The beaded edge gives the ring a sophisticated finish, and this feature continues 3/4 of the way around the band. Another nice feature is the slight curvature on the interior beneath the "basket," which allows the ring to sit comfortably on the finger. Although the ring is perfect for a USA size 6, the back of the ring contains a plain area allowing resizing by your local jeweler without damaging the design. Very good antique condition with light wear consistent with age and use. Under magnification, we noticed that one opal has a nibble on the girdle. This is not visible with the naked eye, especially when worn. Every stone is original to the ring, and there have been no repairs or alterations. Marked 14K on the interior of the band. Gold purity and genuine stones were confirmed and guaranteed through X-Ray and gemstone testing. A beautiful antique statement piece for your next black tie event.
