An antique pearl, diamond, yellow gold, and platinum ring, comprising one large certified natural pearl, two large old European cut diamonds, and eight smaller old European cut accent diamonds, set in platinum, to a band of 18 karat rose gold.
This ring is set to the centre with a large, certified natural pearl. The pearl is pale, beautifully lustrous, with minimal nacre loss considering the pearl would appear to be older than the ring, and in good condition**. Natural pearls are extremely rare, most having already been harvested. They are exceedingly difficult to locate, with each having to be painstakingly hand-dived for. Approximately 1 in 10,000 wild oysters will produce a pearl, and of those, only a tiny percentage achieve a size, shape, and colour, desirable in jewellery. To the North and South of the pearl, are two large, sparkling, old European cut diamonds, which each have eye visible clarity characteristics. The diamonds are claw set, and rest within platinum baskets. Each shoulder of the ring is adorned with 4 glittering old mine cut diamonds. The shoulders of the ring taper to a plain, polished band of yellow gold. The ring is in great condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The head of the ring measures 23mm high, and 8.6mm wide. The band measures just under 1.5mm wide at the back.

**The ring was likely made specifically for the pearl, as it appears the pearl may have once been part of a different piece of jewellery (possibly a necklace), as there looks to be evidence of a drilled hole which is obscured by one of the diamonds. As natural pearls are so sought after and rare, it is common that they would be used in different pieces of jewellery across time, as they are heirloom jewels. The pearl is likely to be significantly older than the ring itself.
