A Victorian ruby, diamond, and yellow gold ring, comprising four round cut rubies, and eight old European cut diamonds, set in 14 karat yellow gold, to an 14 karat yellow gold band.
My favourite thing about this Victorian 14K Yellow Gold Ruby and Diamond Ring is the dramatic shape. What’s yours? Perhaps the sparkling diamonds? Or the pinkish red hue of the rubies?
This striking Victorian ring is a slender marquise shape, coming to a dramatic point at each end, and extending up the finger. At the centre of the ring, is a cluster of 4 round cut rubies, which are a beautiful, luxurious pinkish red hue, and are well matched with one another. Clusters of diamonds are set above and below the rubies, leading you to the sharp points of the marquise. The old European cut diamonds are bright, white, sparkly, and well-matched with one another. The rubies and diamonds are pave set, and are raised on a lattice-like gallery, keeping a low profile to the finger. The ring is in great condition, and has likely had the shank replaced at some point in its life (the work has been done well and is not visible). Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The head of the ring measures 24mm long and 6.7mm wide. The band is 1.5mm wide at the back, and the ring rises 3.3mm off the hand.
