About the Item
An Art Deco diamond, ruby, platinum and yellow gold ring, comprising two old cut diamonds, two rose cut diamonds and two round cut rubies, set in platinum, to a band of 18 karat yellow gold.
This elegant ring is set to the centre with a pair of old single cut diamonds, arranged North to South. The central diamonds are flanked by a pair of vibrant red rubies, and a final pair of small rose cut diamonds complete the ring. The stones are set in platinum, creating a propellor-like shape which was a popular motif in the Art Deco era, post WW1. The gemstones rest at the centre of a platinum lozenge shape, polished to a high shine, adding to the geometric design of the ring. The pinched shoulders lead to a band of plain, polished yellow gold. The ring is in great condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The setting of the ring measures 5.2mm high and 10.6mm wide. The ring measures 6.6mm wide at the front, and the band measures 1.8mm wide at the back.
