About the Item
An art-deco poison ring with amethyst.
This is a very interesting poison-ring created during the art-deco period, back in the 1930's. The ring was crafted in the baroque style with a concealed hidden compartment in solid .925/.999 sterling silver and decorated with intricate floriated and twisted patterns. The hidden box is embellished on top with one natural amethyst and the lid is fitted with a three-barrels hinge with a figure eight security lock.
Country: Mexico.
Period: Art-deco, 1930.
Amethyst: Mount on top in a bezel setting, with 1 rectangular cabochon cut (5 x 7 x 4 mm) carved from natural vivid purple amethyst with a weight of about 1 carat.
Birthstone: Amethyst for the month of February.
Weight: 11.95 Grams, (7.70 Dwt).
Size: Actually is 8 and may be easily sized up or down on special request.
Measurements: 26 mm by 24 mm (1.02 x 0.95 Inches) and raise 13 mm over the finger.
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the silver and signed as follows: ".925".
Collateral: This Art-Deco poison-ring is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
Condition: The overall condition of this Art-Deco poison-ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver. The amethyst is secured in the setting. This ring was inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
