About the Item
An Art Deco sapphire, diamond, platinum and yellow gold ring, set with three baguette cut sapphires, and three old mine cut diamonds, the diamonds set in platinum, the sapphires set in 18 karat yellow gold, to an 18 karat yellow gold band.
This striking late Art Deco ring is in the Odeonesque style, a chunky design style, which features asymmetry and bold gemstones, often with a curved element, popular from the mid to late 1940s. This chunky yellow gold ring has a bold, undulating design, set to one side with a curved row of baguette cut sapphires, held within a channel setting. The sapphire setting is raised above the ring, which then curves away and up in a wave-like shape, creating a setting for the diamonds. Three old mine cut diamonds are held within pinched platinum settings, atop the wave-like curl. The diamonds are bright, white, sparkly, and well-matched with one another. The extremely broad shoulders of the ring taper to a wide band of yellow gold. A true statement piece of retro jewellery. The ring is in good condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The ring measures 13.2mm wide at the front, 5mm wide at the back, and rises 7.3mm off the hand.
