About the Item
Geometric ring designed by Bent Knudsen (Denmark 1924-1997).
This is a fabulous geometric cocktail ring, created in Denmark by the jewelry designer Bent Knudsen, back in the 1970. The geometric ring has been designed following the golden rule parameters, in solid yellow gold of 14 karats with high polished finish. The ring is mounted with two natural amethysts, carved with cubist shapes and are accommodated in the ring to reinforce the three-dimensional effect. Rings made in gold by Bent Knudsen are very rare to see offered in the market and are highly collectible.
Amethyst: Mounted in boxed settings, with 2 fancy cubism shaped cut carved from natural purple amethyst.
Birthstone: Amethyst for the month of February.
Weight: 10.95 Grams, (7.05 Dwt).
Size: 7.5 and may be easily sized up or down on special request.
Measurements: 21 mm by 20 mm (0.83 x 0.79 Inches) and raise 12 mm over the finger.
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the 14kt gold and signed as follow: "DENMARK BENT K. .585".
Bent Knudsen
Bent Knudsen was trained as a silversmith at C.M. Cohr in Fredericia and joined the Hans Hansen workshop in 1946. In 1956 he and his wife Anni (b. 1926) started their own workshop where they produced silver and gold jewelry in a simple and clear style. Their pieces are often mounted with hematite, malachite, topaz and amethyst cabochons. Whereas the 40's in Denmark had spurred an experimental investigation into materials, the 50's experimented with form and shapes, as artist and designers broke the barrier even further between artist and craftsman. Jewellery started to become an art in itself and the Danish Jewelers' Association began to hold annual competitions starting in 1950, which helped encourage the development of newer designs. Their pieces are often mounted with hematite, malachite, topaz and amethyst cabochons.

Condition: The overall condition of this Bent Knudsen ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The 2 amethysts are secured in their settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
