About the Item
A jaw-dropping 11ct Tourmaline held together by swooping 3mm bands of yellow solid gold. A statement ring which you can wear day or night. This uniquely cut stone is held by four prongs on each corner to maintain the clarity of the stone. Though this piece is chunky, it is so comfortable to wear!
Unlike most of the pieces, The Valentine Ring was designed around the stone first. We found the 11ct tourmaline on a gem sourcing trip and was immediately obsessed with it. The color and shape were so unique and felt like LÖF, just as it was. Because of that, we didn’t want to detract from the stone at all, so we needed to ensure that we gave it enough space and light to really stand out. It took a few months of refining, drawing inspiration architecture and geometry books, until it became the design it is today. By using our signature LÖF style – playing with geometric lines and utilizing the space between them – we could design a piece that champions the stone in a simple way, but still feels dramatic and in keeping with LÖF’s vibe. The piece is named after the founder's son.
