About the Item
Perfectly, outrageously flashy, and fun, this Midcentury (circa 1950s) cocktail ring is bursting with marquise-cut rubies and round brilliant diamonds. There are 3.30 carats of rubies and 1.08 carats of bright white diamonds for a total carat weight of approximately 4.38. The stones are securely prong-set into a flamboyant 14K white gold mounting that towers 17.04mm from the surface of the finger.
The rubies are lovely: all of them are natural, most heated and none have been treated with lead glass or anything nasty. The rubies are also from different locations. Most are approximately 4.95mm x 3mm x 1.50mm. The face of the ring measures 28.50mm x 23.64. It's big, bold and splashy in the best way.
The ring appears to be in excellent vintage condition. It's currently a size 8 but your jeweler could resize it for you if needed. The interior of the band is marked for metal fineness but there is no maker's mark. I believe the ring is most likely American in origin.
