Edwardian Antique Sugarloaf Star Sapphire Mine cut Miner Diamond 18K Gold Halo Ring
What a great ring, circa 1910s! It has it all, a beautiful natural star sapphire in the center and brilliant diamonds set in a beautiful vintage mounting. It is a fine piece of estate jewelry crafted in luxurious and expensive 18K yellow gold. Featured in the center is a genuine earth mined cabochon sugarloaf cut star sapphire measuring 9.7mm x 7.7mm x 6.3mm. It is 6 carats estimated weight. The stone has a luscious blue color with a high luster. It has a good six ray star that moves across the top of the gem as light passes over it in electric lighting. Lovely stone! There are 12 brilliant old mine and European cut diamonds for a total estimated weight of 1.20 carats. The diamonds are estimated to be VS2-SI2 in clarity on average and HI in color (near colorless). Tall diamonds, just magical!! Gorgeous mounting!! The ring is a size 5.25 (easily sizable) and weighs 4.6 grams. The presentation measures 16.56mm tall (5/8") x 14.39mm and the center stone is raised 9.22mm high.
