About the Item
As good as it gets! This is a fine example of Australian opal; being a boulder opal or black opal this piece has fantastic play of color and pattern. Having grown on its host rock (making it a boulder opal) gives it a unique feature. The top half of the stone with the color bar appears translucent allowing you to look into the stone, but under the color bar is the opaque boulder giving it a darker tone like a black opal. The piece is accented by 1.04 carats of round brilliant-cut and larger marquise-shape diamonds set around the ring in a stylish pattern. The opal weighs 7.89 carats. Hand-fabricated in platinum and ready to be worn.
