This stunning ring features an exceptionally fine quality Burmese star ruby that is noteworthy for several reasons! The high-domed, vibrant ruby has spectacular, rich color, exhibits the phenomenon of asterism, is certified as both unheated and of Burmese origin, and at 5.28 carats, it is unusually large for a gemstone possessing such superior quality. This gorgeous, unheated gem has a straight, centered and complete star. The ruby is also semi-transparent and therefore appears significantly more "brilliant" and lively than more opaque star rubies. It has a beautiful balance of all the best qualities!
Burma, now known as Myanmar, is one of the premier sources of the world's finest rubies and as such, fine rubies with certified Burmese origin are rare and highly valued.
