Geometric ring designed by Diane Von Furstenberg for H. Stern.
Beautiful geometric ring, created by the Brazilian jewelry house of H. Stern. back in the late 1970's. This contemporary statement ring is extremely rare and was designed by Diane Von Furstenberg. Carefully crafted with multiples elements made up in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish.
Diamonds: Mount in a pave setting, with 27 round brilliant cut diamonds, 0.81 carats, G/H color, SI-1 clarity.
Onyx: Mount with bars settings, with 6 free forms geometric elements, carved from natural black onyx.
Weight: 27.25 Grams, (17.47 Dwt).
Size: 7.5 and may be sized.
Measurements: 42 mm by 28 mm (1.65 x 1.10 Inches) and raise 8 mm over the finger.
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark of the mark associated to Diane Von Furstenberg, the gold assay and signed, "S. .750 M".

Hans Stern, the company was founded in Brazil by Hans Stern in the 1945. When he was a teenager, he and his family fled Nazi Germany and arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, penniless. Hans found a job at Cristab, a company that cut and exported gemstones. He loved the colorful semi-precious gems and learned all he could about the jewelry business. He also studied the languages he would need to succeed in the international gem trade. Part of Hans's job was visiting the mines. He became friendly with the miners and learned more about the gemstones from them. He pawned his precious accordion to buy gemstones on the consignment. He was still a young man when he founded his own company, H. Stern, his first shop established on the docks where international passengers disembarked from the cruise ships.
Hans wanted Brazil to be known as the “Land of the Colored Gemstone,” and today, more than half of the colored gems in the world are mined in Brazil. The turning point in his career came when the Nicaraguan dictator, Anastasio Somoza, visited the struggling jeweler's shop and bought a distinctive aquamarine necklace for $20,000. Hans's reputation soared. His creations captured the free-spirited, colorful, creative essence of the Brazil. Now his son Roberto Stern is ruling the worldwide company.
Diane von Fürstenberg, born Diane Simone Michelle Halfin (Brussels, December 31, 1946) is a Belgian-American fashion designer known for her famous wrap-cut dresses.

This geometric sculptural ring has been crafted with minimalist patterns in solid sterling silver and yellow gold of 14 karats with high polished finish. This ring is part of the collection created between the 1960 and 1970, when the artist Jean Dinh Van was the creative head in the jewelry department of Pierre Cardin.
The design of these rings and other pieces of jewelry from these collections have always been inspired as a design pattern by the letters PC from Pierre Cardin's initials. Composite geometric shapes make up these letters, which although sometimes they are very obvious in the design, in others they are made in a more discreet way.

This marvelous piece is composed by three elements, attached all together from the back, with two screws. The main focus element is a big disc, carved from natural black onyx with a weight of about 70 carats. This ring is accented on top, with an abstracted free-form element, that float and emerge.
Have a total weight of 30.6 Grams and the actual size is 7.25, is sizeable.
