About the Item

This vivid pink imperial topaz ring -hand-crafted in England over 180 years ago- is one of the rarest and most unapologetically regal rings you will ever encounter. A size 10.5 ring, it was originally created for a man. But could of course be worn by anyone today. In the era this ring was created, men wore pearls. And no man would feel uncomfortable wearing a flashy pink gemstone because there is absolutely no other gemstone that looks like this. Topaz is a common gemstone and is typically white. It is irradiated to achieve its popular blue and pink colors. But naturally pink topaz is not common. It is in fact exceedingly rare, considerably rarer than diamonds. And this particular natural pink topaz gem is vividly saturated. It flashes purple. Having reviewed images of the pink imperial topaz necklace and earrings King Charles presented his wife, Queen Camilla, I can say with certainty: this ring has superior color to what the King was able to find. Think about that for a moment. The king of England bought the finest pink topaz gems he could find and they are slightly less saturated than this ring. That's the thing about something truly rare: it doesn't matter how wealthy you are, what you desire must be available. The natural, untreated pink topaz gemstone is surrounded by a halo of natural uncultured saltwater pearls, all perfectly presented in a richly carved and detailed buttery 18K yellow gold mounting. Unlike many rings from this era -it is open-backed. The stone and the pearls are in extraordinary condition. Stone specifics: This 12mm x 5mm x 8.7mm gem weighs 4 carats and securely resides within numerous secure hand-carved prongs, surrounded by 18 small, fine natural saltwater pearls. Ornately hand-engraved shoulders lead around to the rear and a simple grooved band. The interior of the band features a full complement of English hallmarks. Dating to 1843 and made in London, the ring bears all its original hallmarks and has never been resized. Your jeweler could resize this ring for you if need be, taking care to retain those fine English hallmarks. The ring ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that the topaz is untreated and from Brazil. Most pink topaz comes from Pakistan; Pink topaz from Brazil is the most desirable -and rarest pink topaz- of all. This museum-quality, investment-grade jewel is a fine and extraordinary treasure.
