About the Item
The islet ring is one of Doug Bucci's latest production-line wearables from his long standing Islet series of 3D printed jewelry.
Doug Bucci is a leading-edge Technology-Age American jewelry designer based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Islet ring's form is defined by a symmetrical hexagonal shape that is repeated to create a lattice.
This unique infinite tubular structure is built - layer upon layer - using 3D printing to create an object that could not be formed by traditional handmade jewelry techniques.
The interior of the latticework is filled with 1 carat of a gemstone - essentially an inversion of the traditional prong mounted gemstone ring.
The Islet ring pictured in this listing is a sterling silver Islet Rings with 1-carat of cubic zirconia and is a size 8 1/2. The price is $600.
(The Islet ring can be produced in all sizes, all precious metals, and with any stones upon request. Pricing is on a commission basis. Each ring is individually made and will vary slightly in size, surface, color, and finish. Stones may vary in size, color and count. Production time is generally 3-4 weeks.)
Each ring is stamped with the artist's hallmark and with an assay mark.
