About the Item
Star ruby carved emerald and diamond ring. Set with a natural unenhanced oval cabochon star ruby displaying strong asterism with an approximate weight of 30.00 carats in a raised open back claw setting, encircled by a collet set with fifteen natural unenhanced cabochon emeralds in open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 15.00 carats, interspersed with eleven round old single cut diamonds in claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.22 carats. All set to a structured yellow gold form with intricate backholing and ornate carving to the emeralds of a foliate design, conforming to the finger and leading to a tapered diagonally ribbed shank. Marked yellow gold with white gold, signed Marchak, Paris, circa 1960.
