A sculptural ring with an Atelier Munsteiner cut morganite.
This is a fabulous sculptural cocktail ring, created in Germany with modernist patterns back in the 1990's. The sculptural ring was carefully crafted in solid white gold of 18 karats with brushed and polished finishes. This ring is one-of-a-kind, since the main body was customized to fit the contour of the gem it displays on top. Mount with an exceptional Munsteiner cut of a natural earth mined light pinkish morganite.
Morganite
This gemstone is an orange or pink variety of beryl. Morganite is mined in Brazil, Afghanistan, Mozambique, Namibia, the United States, and Madagascar. Morganite. Morganite from Brazil with inclusions of black schorl. Morganite stones of good color and size were first discovered in 1910 on an island off the coast of Madagascar. It was also found, along with other gemstones such as tourmaline and spodumene, in Pala, California. In December 1910, the New York Academy of Sciences named the pink variety of beryl morganite, derived from the entrepreneur J. P. Morgan. On October 7, 1989, one of the largest specimens of morganite ever found, later called "The Maine Rose," was found in the Bennett Quarry in Buckfield, Maine, United States. The gem, originally with orange hues, measured 23 centimeters long and 30 centimeters wide, and weighed just over 23 kilograms with its matrix. Before 2011, morganite was unknown in most jewelry stores. Currently, the gemstone has gained popularity.

Hallmarks Stamped with the maker's mark logo, the mark for the assay and warranty of the gold and signed as follow, "M. .750 18KT".
Atelier Munsteiner
The artists focuses on the innovative shaping of modern gemstones as a means to create exquisite masterpieces. The family-run firm has introduced numerous gem-cutting styles and shapes, gaining international recognition and acclaim. Bernd Munsteiner, known as the “Picasso of Gem-Cutters,” was the first contemporary jewelry artist to work with crystals. Creating the firm’s maxim of “designing the stone,” Bernd is famous for the images, objects d’art, and sculptures he creates from transparent minerals. Learning to cut and polish gems in the classical faceted style, Bernd’s son, Tom, later adopted the special geometric cuts his father had developed. Finally, Bernd's daughter, Jutta, specifically focuses on the design aspects of the business. While each Munsteiner brings a distinctive facet to the family firm, their works always culminate from Bernd’s original vision of releasing the aura from a stone.
