Rare GIA Certified Burma Cabochon Sapphire Diamond Platinum Ring Size 6.5 Ring
By OGI Ltd
Located in New York, NY
Burma (Myanmar) is renowned for producing some of the world's most exceptional sapphires. A GIA-certified cabochon sapphire originating from Burma is a gem of unmatched rarity and allure. The scarcity of these sapphires, particularly those that exhibit no indications of heating, places them in a class of their own in the gemstone market, making them highly sought after by connoisseurs and collectors alike. 1. Geographic Origin and Quality: The geographic origin of Burma (Myanmar) is synonymous with sapphires of the highest caliber. Burmese sapphires are celebrated for their vivid blue hue, exceptional clarity, and velvety texture, often described as possessing a "cornflower blue" color. This distinctive quality is attributed to the unique geological conditions found in Burma, which result in sapphires with a deep, rich color and excellent transparency. Sapphires from this region are rarer than their counterparts from other locations, such as Sri Lanka or Madagascar, making them highly coveted in the gemstone market. 2. Cabochon Cut and Unique Appeal: The cabochon cut, where the sapphire is polished into a smooth, rounded shape rather than faceted, highlights the gem’s natural color and translucency. This style of cutting is typically reserved for sapphires of exceptional color quality, where the stone's inherent beauty can be showcased without the need for facets to enhance its appearance. A cabochon-cut sapphire from Burma, weighing 4.75 carats, is particularly rare, as larger, high-quality stones from this origin are seldom found in such a pristine state. 3. No Indications of Heating – A Natural Treasure: The absence of any indications of heating further enhances the rarity and value of this sapphire. Heat treatment is a common practice used to enhance the color and clarity of sapphires. However, a natural, untreated sapphire that exhibits the deep blue color characteristic of Burmese origin is exceedingly rare. Untreated sapphires are considered highly desirable in the auction world, often commanding premium prices due to their untouched, natural state. Halo of round brilliant and tapered baguette diamonds totaling 0.75 carats. 4. Investment Value and Auction Market Demand: GIA-certified Burma cabochon sapphire...
