Late 18th Century Cocktail Rings

Spanish Colonial antique ring with Colombian emerald. This is an exceptional rare antique ring, created in Spain during the Spanish Colonial period, circa 1790. We are sure this ring was made in the Spanish Colombia and most probably in the city of Cartagena de Indias, back in the late 18th century. This ring was carefully crafted with parts made up in solid yellow gold of 17, 18 and 19 karats and parts in native silver for the settings of the old miners diamonds. Embellished with a nice selection of twelve natural diamonds and one large emerald from Colombia. It should be noted that the diamonds and the emerald mount in this rare ring are definitely of Colombian origin. Seeing a piece from this period with this quality is very rare and difficult. Usually, these pieces with that kind of precious stones were disassembled during the later Victorian period to create new pieces. This is a great collectible piece of great rarity, with an excellent craftsmanship and surely a collector's item. Diamonds: Mounted in basket prongs settings, with 12 old miners rose cut diamonds, with a total weight of about 1.12 carats. Emerald: Mount in the center in a box setting, with 1 squared step cut (12 x 11 x 4 mm) of a natural vivid green Colombian emerald with a net weight of about 3.80 carats. (The weight was estimated by measurement formula). Birthstone: Diamonds for the month of December and emerald for May. Weight: 9.85 Grams, (6.32 Dwt). Size: 7 and may be resized up or down on special request. Measurements: 22 mm by 21 mm (0.87 x 0.83 Inches) and raise 6 mm over the finger. Hallmarks: Electronically tested for .707/.999 equivalent to 17 karats gold and .850/.999 silver. Stamped with severals maker's mark and assay marks.
