About the Item

Geometric ring designed by Pierre Cardin. Sculptural modernist piece, created in France by the Parisian fashion designer Pierre Cardin, back in the 1970. This geometric sculptural ring has been crafted with minimalist patterns in solid sterling silver and yellow gold of 14 karats with high polished finish. This ring is part of the collection created between the 1960 and 1970, when the artist Jean Dinh Van was the creative head in the jewelry department of Pierre Cardin. The design of these rings and other pieces of jewelry from these collections have always been inspired as a design pattern by the letters PC from Pierre Cardin's initials. Composite geometric shapes make up these letters, which although sometimes they are very obvious in the design, in others they are made in a more discreet way. Black Onyx: Mount in a bezel setting, with 3 round flat cabochon cut carved from black onyx. Weight: 16.85 Grams, (10.80 Dwt). Size: 7 sizeable. Measurements: 25 mm by 32 mm (098 x 1.26 Inches) and raise 5 mm over the finger. Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the marks for the gold and the silver assay and signed, "PIERRE CARDIN 14K STERLING SILVER". Pierre Cardin, born as Pietro Costante Cardin in 1922. He was an Italian-born naturalized-French fashion designer. He is known for what were his avant-garde style and Space Age designs. He preferred geometric shapes and motifs, often ignoring the female form. He advanced into unisex fashions, sometimes experimental, and not always practical.Cardin moved to Paris in 1945. There, he studied architecture and worked with the fashion house of Paquin after World War II. He worked with Elsa Schiaparelli until he became head of Christian Dior's tailleur atelier in 1947, but was denied work at Balenciaga. Cardin founded his own fashion house in 1950. His career was launched when he designed about 30 of the costumes for a masquerade ball in Venice, hosted by Carlos de Beistegui in 1951. Cardin inaugurated his haute couture output in 1953 with his first collection of women's clothing and became a member of the Chambre Syndicale, a French association of haute couture designers. The following year he opened his first boutique Eve, and introduced the "bubble dress", which is a short-skirted, bubble-shaped dress made by bias-cutting over a stiffened base. He was the first couturier to turn to Japan as a high fashion market when he travelled there in 1957. Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Condition: The overall condition of this ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold or the silver. The onyx is secured in the setting. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity. INVENTORY REF: R041723ANNK/.4995

I live and work in Orvieto, where I was born. From the beauty of the places that surround me I draw the destination for art and creativity. From classical studies, the love for the origin and the plasticity of the forms. I have been creating jewels for over thirty years but I keep the traits of a little girl alive: I play, invent, create, amaze. I attended the "workshop" of a well-known Tuscan goldsmith and sculptor for six years but the real training was the direct experience in my atelier...
