Elaborate vintage large poison or pillbox ring (circa 1950s to 1960s), crafted in 14 karat yellow gold.
Turquoise totals an estimated 0.90 carats
is set upon an onyx mounting that measures 25mm x 17mm. The stones are in excellent condition and free of cracks or chips.
The ring opens to reveal a secret compartment. Typically this type of ring has been used to carry perfume, locks of hair, devotional relics, messages or other keepsakes.
The substantial ring weighs 35.7 grams, with a hefty feel on the hand.
The ring is in very good condition. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
