About the Item
Cabochon sapphire and diamond ring by Sterle Paris. Set to centre with an oval cabochon natural unenhanced Ceylon sapphire in an open back collet setting with an approximate weight of 9.00 carats, encircled by six round brilliant cut diamonds in grain set outward sprayed curving collets with an approximate combined weight of 0.18 carats, to a heavy elegant bombé cluster form with intricate swirling twisted openwork rows, alternating in threes from white to yellow gold, gently curving down the heavy tapering shoulders with open backholing to a smooth conforming solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat white and yellow gold, signed 'STERLE - PARIS', numbered '5744', French, circa 1950.
