A fine and impressive antique 0.50 carat opal and 0.33 carat diamond, 18 karat yellow gold cocktail ring; part of our diverse collection of Victorian jewellery This fine and impressive antique opal ring has been crafted in 18k yellow gold with a silver setting. The pierced decorated navette shaped setting is ornamented with a central claw set 0.50ct cabochon cut white opal. The marquise shaped frame is embellished with eighteen claw set Old European cut diamonds, totalling 0.33ct. The bifurcating ring shoulders integrate with the main setting at a pierced scrolling design and blend seamlessly with the plain ring shank. The interior of the ring shank is hallmarked with the maker's mark (A&W) and the 18k gold mark (18CT ) and has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 karat gold and silver. This Victorian opal and diamond ring is supplied with an IDGL diamond and gemstone grading report card. Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone of this fine example of opal jewellery. Condition This fine and impressive antique ring is excellent quality, set with an impressive opal displaying a scintillating play of colour; there is natural surface wear to the opal, in keeping with age. The impressive diamonds display a fine white colour and brilliance. The ring is an excellent gauge of gold and is in excellent condition, with deeply struck hallmarks to the interior of the shank.
