About the Item
For sale is this lovely bulky old European Cut diamond ring. This Ruby Tank ring is made in 18 karat Yellow gold and marked with an 18k mark. This type of ring is called a Tank ring thanks to to the Tanks of the Second World War. These tank rings where mostly created during the 40's and 50's and are a perfect example of the retro style. They are heavy, voluminous and have often symmetrical forms.
A central thin horizontal line set with eight baguette cut rubies make sure that the ring os a colourful eye-catcher while ten breath taking old european mine cut diamonds steals the show. They are placed in two lines of five diamonds, appearing as two sparkling lines. The book like base of the ring finish the whole and turn this ring a romanic beauty.
We adore this marvellous ring. It is Bombastic, yet elegant and holds one of our favorite diamonds, old European cuts.
- Head of ring sits approximately 7 mm off the finger.
- The Ring shank is 5 mm wide.
- The ring head is 14 mm wide and 21 mm long.
- The ring size is 8 3/4 US - 59 FR but can be resized a bit by a skilled goldsmith.
