An early 19th century cameo ring, the oval brown and white sardonyx cameo measuring 2.7 1.5cm and depicting Hercules and the Nemean Lion, mounted in roman-style setting to gold tapering shank, possibly Italian, circa 1800, measuring 4 x 2.3cm, finger size N, gross weight 11.8 grams.
This antique ring is in very good condition with signs of wear consistent with its age. Unmarked as 18ct gold.

Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III. The oval Roman style cameo is made of beautiful sardonyx and depicts the mighty Hercules, locked in combat with the Nemean Lion. The meticulous craftmanship and attention to detail of the cameo suggests that the origin could be Italy, renowned for its masterful cameo craftsmanship. Dating back to circa 1800, this piece embodies sophistication and elegance.
