About the Item
This 1950s Toi Et Moi ring boasts two modern brilliant-cut diamonds weighing 1.71 carats total with VVS1 - VVS2 clarity grade and G - H color grade, prong set in platinum. It truly sparkles much more than any photo can capture. The large center stones weigh 0.71 carats and 0.70 carats and are bypassed on each side by graduated round brilliant diamonds weighing 0.31 carats total giving the ring a total diamond weight of 2.02 carats. This is truly a special ring with such a romantic meaning behind the style.
This captivating platinum and high quality diamond 1950s engagement ring done in the toi et moi style features two gemstones nestled side by side which was first popularized by the engagement ring Napoleon Bonaparte presented to his wife Josephine in January of 1796. "Toi et moi" translates to "you and me," and the two center stones represent each person in the couple. This trend resurfaced again in the 1950s when John F. Kennedy gave a toi et moi style ring to Jacqueline Bouvier in June of 1953. The style of this ring allows it to be worn as an atypical engagement or as a fashion ring sparkling on your finger.
The top of the ring measures 1/2" wide at the center and tapers to 1.75mm at the base; it is ring is a finger size 5.25 which can be sized; however we do not offer this service.
