About the Item
This exceptional antique beauty was crafted sometime during the Art Deco design period (1920-1940). The antique platinum setting is intricate, precise, and absolutely stunning. The center diamond is an Old European cut measuring approximately 1.50 carats. This antique diamond grades approximately L in color and VS1 in clarity. The setting features 12 sparkling accent diamonds inlaid amongst generous amounts of antique hand engravings and open work filigree. The filigree resembles stylized garlands and six french cut blue sapphires appear as if almost woven into the motif. Sapphires were often selected to accent bridal jewelry from this time period. The gemstone’s rich blue color was associated with themes of fidelity, loyalty, and faithfulness. The antique style claw prongs hold the diamond securely and slightly aloft the setting, allowing glimpses of the pavilion and giving this piece an absolutely regal solitaire silhouette.
