An antique diamond, and yellow gold ring, comprising five diamonds, set in 18 karat yellow gold.
My favourite thing about this Antique 18K Gold Diamond Ring is the sparkling diamonds. What’s yours? Perhaps the buttery yellow gold? Or its slender shape?
This adorable ring is set with 5 graduating old European cut diamonds (one of which has been later replaced with a more modern cut). The diamonds are bright, white, sparkly, and well-matched with one another. The diamonds are held within claw settings, creating a looping gallery, which allows light to filter through and aid sparkle. The shoulders lead to a plain, polished band of yellow gold. The ring is in good condition and has likely been re-shanked (band replaced), but the work has been done skilfully. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The setting of the ring measures 4mm long, and 11.5mm wide, sitting 2.8mm off the hand. The band measures 1.3mm wide at the back.
