About the Item

Antique 9ct Gold Mizpah Ring — This beautifully sentimental Mizpah ring dates to the late Victorian era, circa 1890–1900, and is finely crafted in 9ct gold. The word Mizpah, a Hebrew term meaning “watchtower,” carries a deeply symbolic message of protection and remembrance, often interpreted as “May God watch over you.” Traditionally exchanged as a token of love during times of separation, Mizpah jewelry became especially popular in the Victorian period. This ring measures approximately 0.3 inches at its widest point and remains in great condition for its age, with a warm, well-preserved finish. It is currently a size 7.25 and can be professionally resized for an additional charge if desired.

Victorian 18 Karat Gold and Enamel Mizpah Ring
Located in Stamford, CT
In striking contrast, this Mizpah ring was created c. 1870 in 18 Kt gold. In striking contrast with no wear, the word Mispah is raised in gold letters on a darker gold background. The borders are scalloped. A gold daisy is at the middle of the word. Mizpah is from the Hebrew bible meaning watchtower. The loose translation is May God Watch over you while we are apart. The word connotes a deep emotional relationship between two people. The added sentiment of the daisy is "think of me" which all Victorians recognized from the language of flowers. A beautiful ring of sentient and dedication. A perfect wedding band...
