About the Item
Antique marquise ruby and diamond ring. Vertically set to the centre with two round old cut diamonds in slightly raised open back rubover millegrain platinum settings, with a combined weight of 2.30 carats, encased within a marquise form set with seventeen natural unenhanced tapered baguette cut rubies with an approximate weight of 5.00 carats in an open back gold rubover setting, flanked on the shoulders by two round old cut diamonds with a combined weight of 0.20 carats, in open back platinum grain collet settings. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.50 carats. The form is supported by a framework of pierced backholing with an ornate graduated scrolled pattern motif to the marquise shape conforming finger gallery, flowing down to tapered shoulders with engraving detail and a solid shank. Yellow gold with platinum, circa 1900. UK finger size U.
