An antique diamond, and yellow gold ring, comprising four old mine cut diamonds, in 18 karat yellow gold.
My favourite thing about this Antique Yellow Gold 4 Stone Diamond Ring is the sparkling diamonds. What’s yours? Perhaps the chunky shape? Or the full British hallmarks?
This juicy Victorian ring is set with 4 old mine cut diamonds, graduating in size from the centre. The central pair of diamonds are squarer in shape, and are bright, sparkly, and well-matched with one another. The smaller pair of diamonds are slightly darker, contrasting perfectly with the bright central diamonds, and accentuating their colour and complementing the larger diamonds. The diamonds are held within a claw setting, and are raised on a looping gallery, allowing plenty of light to filter through and aid sparkle. The broad shoulders of the ring lead to a plain, polished band of yellow gold. The ring is in good condition; there is some wear to the top and bottom of the setting (from wear with another ring). It is quite unusual to see a 4 stone diamond ring from this era; 5 stone diamond rings are significantly more common. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The head of the ring measures 7mm long, and 16.5mm wide. The ring rises 4.5mm off the hand, and the band measures 1.8mm wide at the back.
