About the Item
We are delighted to offer this lovely antique Victorian enamel gold ring made c.1880.
The ring features an unmistakably Victorian and striking design with a light blue enamel cabochon and star motif.
The ring is set in antique 9ct solid gold and presents a wonderful structure whereby the gold protrudes from the enamel in the centre with a hand-engraved starburst effect and a single pearl in the centre to accentuate the overall design. This not only culminates in a lovely aesthetic but also is representative of the high degree of craftsmanship of the era and distinguishes itself from contemporary pieces.
The ring's shank features a simple yet elegant bifurcated design as if to lift up and present the top dome - this allows for the ring to be worn comfortably whilst also presenting the enamel top in its best light to be seen from all angles.
Such a combination of fine goldsmithing, enamelling and engraving makes for an exceptionally stylish choice for antique jewellery lovers.

Condition: good antique condition with no major issues or damage, some slight surface wear as expected with antiques of this age. One area of the enamel towards the edge has a slightly lighter colour/very fine surface scrape chip. This does not go through to the bottom and as such the blue colour remains and is solely mentioned for accuracy as it can be seen depending on the angle of lighting upon close inspection. Please kindly refer to the photos for further details.
