About the Item
An Art Deco diamond, platinum, and yellow gold ring, comprising one old mine cut diamond, and nine old single cut diamonds, set in platinum and 18 karat yellow gold, to an 18 yellow gold band.
This Art Deco ring has a lozenge shaped head, set with one old mine cut diamond to the centre, surrounded by 9 old single cut diamonds. The diamonds are bright, sparkly and well-matched with one another, and held within a pavé, platinum setting, with elegant millegrain edging. The cool platinum contrasts perfectly with the warm tone of the yellow gold. The slim shoulders of the ring, taper to a plain, polished band of yellow gold. A classic geometric design, all the rage in the Art Deco period. The ring is in good condition, with some shaping of the band at the back, due to wear with another ring (very common in a piece of this age). Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The head of the ring measures 10mm high, by 7.5mm wide. The ring rises 3.4mm off the finger, the band measures 1.8mm wide at the back.
