About the Item
Timeless American Art Deco 4.50 Ct. Old European Cut Diamond Engagement Ring by CD Peacock, composed of platinum. With a 4.50 carat Old European Cut diamond, GIA certified to have N color
VS2 clarity. With 2 Tapered Baguette Cut diamonds set into the shoulders weighing approximately 0.50 carats in total. Signed for 'Peacock'; American origin. Circa 1930.
C.D. Peacock and Co. is a prominent Chicago jeweler with a history dating back to 1837. It started as "The House of Peacock" under Elijah Peacock, specializing in jewelry and watch sales and repairs. In 1889, the business became known as C.D. Peacock after Charles D. Peacock, Elijah's son, took over. CD Peacock survived the great Chicago fire of 1871 and are still making beautiful pieces today.
