About the Item
Art Deco Burmese sapphire and diamond flanked solitaire ring. Centrally set with an oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 2.78 carats, bordered by two tapered baguette cut diamonds in open back half rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.50 carats, further flanked by four round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.10 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.60 carats, to an impressive flanked solitaire design featuring curved claws, a pierced geometric gallery and fancy shape open backholing, leading to raised shoulders with engraved detail, flowing through to a smooth solid shank. Marked platinum, circa 1930, accompanied by Gubelin Gem Lab report #15038162.
