An Art Deco diamond, platinum?, and white gold? Ring, comprising one large old European cut diamond, two smaller old European cut diamonds, and six old single cut diamonds, set in platinum, to a 14 karat white gold band.
This statuesque Art Deco ring is centred upon a large, old European cut diamond. The chunky, round diamond is held within an octagonal setting, giving the diamond the appearance of being octagonal itself. The large diamond has good clarity, cut, and colour, and is bright, white, and sparkly. A pair of smaller old European cut diamonds are set above and below the central diamond, creating an elongated trilogy ring, which extends up the finger. The smaller diamonds are similarly set, in octagonal settings. The trio of diamonds are cleverly set to appear as if they are floating above the rest of the ring. They are surrounded by an intricate panel, adorned with beading and millegrain decoration, giving a geometric, lace-like look. The panel of the ring is studded with old single cut diamonds, adding sparkle, with a pair set to each shoulder of the ring, leading to a plain, polished band of white gold. The ring is in great condition, the shank appearing to have been replaced (this has been done skilfully). Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The head of the ring measures 18.7mm high, by 10.5mm wide. The ring rises 6.5mm off the finger, the band measures 1.2mm wide at the back.
