About the Item
Art Deco style Old European brilliant-cut diamond and ruby bombe target engagement ring in 18 karat white gold, circa 1990. This ring of a target design very typical of high cocktail and dress jewelry from the 1920s and 1930s features an Old European brilliant-cut diamond millegrain-set to the center, surrounded by a halo of similarly-set calibre-French-cut rubies; the remainder of the bombe collet pave-set throughout with single-cut diamonds, to an open scrollwork gallery, flowing through to a solid D-shape white gold shank. This could easily be an extraordinary engagement ring or a dashing jewel for a fancy night out.
Main Diamond: Old European brilliant-cut; estimated 0.70 carats; K/L color; SI2 clarity. Remaining Diamonds: 26 stones; single-cut; estimated 0.26 carats in total. Rubies: 21 stones; calibre-French-cut; estimated 0.24 carats in total. Finger size: 58 (EU), but it can be sized up or down. Gross weight: 6.33g.
