About the Item
Burmese sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with an oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back claw and rubover setting with a weight of 2.64 carats, flanked by two triangular old cut diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with an approximate weight of 0.70 carats, further adorned by by seventy two round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.75 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.45 carats, to an intricate cluster design featuring millegrain borders, a decoratively pierced gallery featuring scrolling motifs and ornate open backholing, the integrated shoulders flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1925, accompanied by accompanied by Gemological Institute of America (GIA) report #6227749146.
