About the Item
Colombian emerald and diamond ring. Centrally set with one octagonal emerald-cut natural Colombian emerald with minor oil in an open back part rubover setting with an approximate weight of 1.05 carats, flanked by six cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.50 carats, further adorned by ten round rose cut diamonds in closed back grain and rubover settings with a total weight of 0.10 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.60 carats to an impressive seven stone design featuring curving claws, a carved gallery and fancy open backholing, the trumpeting shoulders with carved detail flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1890, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5785-2170.
