About the Item
This elegant late-Edwardian/early Art Deco era ring features a lively 1.38 carat European-cut diamond (VS2 clarity, O-P color) that shimmers with a soft sunshiny hue. Masterfully hand fabricated in platinum, the central diamond radiates from atop an intricate filigree and diamond basket-mount with hand-pierced scrolls, delicate millegrain details and hand-engraved shoulders. A rare and wonderful ring. Currently a ring size 5 1/2.
Measurements: 19 mm north to south, sits 8 mm off of the finger
Weight: 5.8 grams
Notes: This ring was designed to sit securely on the finger without rolling. It's well balanced and comfortable to wear. The 1.38 carat European-cut diamond is a replacement for a heavily worn gemstone. Re-shanked at some point in antiquity.
